Geronimo Springs Museum, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico
Among the hot springs bubbling up in Truth or Consequences
(abbreviated T or C), county seat of Sierra County in New Mexico, are
those on Main Street. These springs are said to have healing powers
and are thought to have been a favorite resting place for Apache
Indians and for Geronimo. Atop a spring on Main Street, across from the
post office, is the apt-named Geronimo Springs Museum holding
many collections of historical interest.
There are exhibits of indian pottery, arrowheads of many designs,
stuffed birds and reptiles, barbed wire of all kinds and sizes,
farm and ranch implements, military uniforms and an 20th century
doctor's office. The Ralph Edwards wing contains photographs of
the man, of his radio shows and television shows. and of his
participation in the T or C annual Fiesta.
