1964 map of ghost towns in New Mexico, southwest United States
The map was researched and published by the New Mexico Bureau of Mines
and Mineral Resources in Socorro, by Lucien A. File. It is 22" by 30".
It was distributed by the New Mexico Department of Development in
the 1960's. In addition to ghost towns, the map shows historic old
centers of habitation, trading posts, and stage and rail stops.
Also included on the map are some prominent ruins and archeological
sites, forts and military posts with date of origin, towns in existence
during Onate's time (1598 to 1608), and better-known Indian Pictograph
sites.
